George Kinsler, NOAH’s Director of Residential Housing Services, says the recent donation will be used solely for hurricane damaged roofs at Covenant Villas. The 144 complex offers rental units in the Belle Glade area for low income single families. "Residents of Covenant Villas are extremely pleased to finally have repair work done to their units," says Kinsler. "H&CD’s support has been wonderful, and we appreciate everything they have done for NOAH and the Belle Glade area. They have been a large part of our success since we began in 1987 and continue to be a generous partner to help NOAH meet our goals." Other recent notable donations by H&CD include $365,000 for interior repairs and outside painting of residential units, and $165,000 for exterior and interior repairs to the Doveland Villas in Pahokee.

"We will certainly continue to support NOAH," says Harvin. "We are partners. We have the same mission . . . to assist lower income families and individuals and to find them sanitary housing and get them off the streets. We couldn’t meet the needs of the Glades area without NOAH. Our staffing is limited and we aren’t able to give the attention needed to that area all the time. That is why NOAH is so important. They are taking care of business like no one else can."
